A young boy, Raki interacts with a Claymore, a female half-demon, half-human hybrid, when she is licensed to kill a demon (called Yoma) in the village. Raki is confronted by the Yoma, who took the form of his brother, and saved by the Claymore. Raki, with nowhere to go, follows the Claymore, who reveals that her name is Clare.
