rambutan Comment : It’s a sci-fi movie set 70 or more years into the future. The world by then is dominated by cyborgs who do almost all the things that humans can do, including prostitution, bar dancing and housework. These cyborgs are treated like our appliances (made for different uses), and are bought and sold. Like any man-made products, they have expiration dates. When the cyborgs are about to expire, they have to be sent to the scrap yard. On the surface, the story appears to be straightforward: a human male in love with a female cyborg trying to find ways and means to keep her living longer. Then there is the evil cyborg who is also about to expire but doesn’t want to die. As the movie progresses, the story becomes more complicated and there is a very good twist at the end. From the word go, the movie is exciting and fast paced. This is more an action packed sci-fi movie than a romance. I wish they had expanded more on the romance between the human and the cyborg. And yes, acting was superb all round. That everyone was eye candy was a bonus!
